Cotopaxi is located on US Hwy 50, halfway between Canon City and Salida, Colorado in the Big Horn Sheep Canyon.  Named after Cotopaxi, Ecuador because of the beautiful mountain views, Cotopaxi is nestled on the banks of the Arkansas River.
