Fish Artwork – T Shirts, Posters, Stickers, Calendars and More

Popular fish art includes t-shirts, stickers, buttons, magnets, calendars, posters, prints and more.

Fish and Fishing T shirts

T-shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts and other apparel are among the most common forms of fish and fishing art. Anglers and fishing enthusiasts love to display their favorite fish, charter boat, event, fishing port, conservation issue, or funny slogan on apparel.

Fish Stickers, Buttons and Magnets

Fish stickers have become extremely popular among anglers and art lovers. Traditional bumper stickers have been joined by smaller oval stickers and other shapes. In addition to adhesive stickers, buttons and magnets allow users to attach their favorite images to almost any surface. These products include images of popular freshwater and saltwater fish, names of ports and designations of specialty fishing.

Fishing Calendars

Calendars are favorites among fishermen and fish enthusiasts. Fishing calendars serve to keep anglers organized, while reminding them of what lies ahead in terms of fishing opportunities. With so many specialties in the sport of fishing, there is a calendar for every type of angler or family of fish.

Fish Identification Posters

A variety of posters are available which depict groups of fish, allowing identification of similar species. While these posters sometimes began as educational tools, they quickly became popular among fishermen, collectors and nautical art lovers.

Fish Photography

Fish photography has been popular for centuries. Fish are photographed in a variety of ways. For example, anglers may photograph fish before releasing them. Other artists are able to capture fish in the natural environment, either jumping or photographed from above. Other artists capture images of fish being caught commercially or on display in seafood markets. Fish are also photographed in aquariums and other displays. Among the most striking fish images are those that are captured underwater, using special cameras and lighting.

Fish Carvings

Wooden fish are extremely popular. The art form began as anglers created lures used in ice fishing and other applications. Later, collectors saw the beauty in these items and began displaying them to the public. In other cases, decoy carvers and other animal carvers decided to branch out and depict fish with their craft. The popularity of wooden fish skyrocketed and today carved fish art is common in almost every nautical community.

Gyotaku Fish Art

A process known as Gyotaku originated around two thousand years ago in Asia. The Gyotaku technique allows for a replication of details from fish to art. The basic technique is relatively simple. Artists apply paint or ink to an actual fish, then paper or canvas is pressed on the specimen. The paper or other media is carefully peeled off to expose the likeness.
